Arrival at Islamabad International Airport and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided city tour including Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument, Lok Virsa Museum, and a panoramic view from Daman-e-Koh. Overnight at hotel.
Early morning departure via the Hazara Motorway and the legendary Karakoram Highway. Optional route via Babusar Pass (4,100 m) during summer months. En-route visit ancient Buddhist rock carvings at Shatial. Overnight in Chilas.
Drive along the Indus River with first dramatic views of Nanga Parbat. Leave the Karakoram Highway and enter the scenic Astore Valley, reaching the remote village of Tarashing, directly beneath the Rupal Face. Overnight in tents or basic lodge.
Begin trekking through glacier moraines, green pastures, and summer villages. Cross the Tarashing Glacier and camp near freshwater springs at Herligkoffer Base Camp, named after Dr. Karl Herrligkoffer. Overnight in tents.
Free day to explore surroundings and acclimatize beneath the towering Rupal Face. Overnight in tents.
