Itinerary
Pick up from the Airport or any other said location within Skardu and drive for 3 hours to Machulu village.
Drive to Deosai National Park (4,114 m), camp overnight. Spot Himalayan brown bears, ibex, marmots, and numerous bird species.
Drive for 2 hours from Deosai to Skardu and then 3-4 Hours from Skardu to Machulu along the banks of River Indus and the Shyoke.
Trek to Camp I (Khadi Broq, 3,200 m, 3–4 hrs), gentle ascent along Machulo Village. Overnight camping.
Trek to Camp II (Qouli Brangsa, 4,150 m). See livestock (yaks, cows, sheep), and enjoy pastoral scenery.
Trek to Machulo La K2 Viewpoint (5,200 m). Camp at the viewpoint with 360° views of K2, Gasherbrum I–IV, Broad Peak, Nanga Parbat, Siachen Glacier, and other valleys, wildlife, and spring waters.
Trek back to Machulu and overnight in the village.
Drive back to Skardu via Khaplu Fort, Shigar Fort, and Upper Kachura Lake, overnight in Skardu.
Fly back to Islamabad (weather permitting) or drive via Chilas (8–9 hrs, 290 km).
