City tour of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. In sharp contrast to the ancient and historical cities and towns of Pakistan, the Federal Capital Islamabad is a new city modeled on the pattern of many new and modern western capitals. Half day city tour of Islamabad. Overnight at a hotel or guest house. Rawalpindi is a bustling town strategically located between the Punjab and Azad Kashmir with strong colonial influence and large military cantonment.
Ten hours driving along the Naran and Kaghan Valley or on the 8th wonder of the World the Karakorum Highway which is worth to enjoy the diverse towns, cities and villages with unique culture of the people along Hazara and Kohistan regions. In route we stop at ancient rock carvings close to Chilas left by travelers, pilgrims, traders on their way to Sub-continent and Central Asia dating back to 5000-1000 BC.
Five to six hour journey starts from Chilas after breakfast to Chatorkhand Ishkoman. On the way we will stop for the view of Nanga Parbat, the Junction of three Great Mountain Ranges of Karakorum, Hindukush and Himalaya along with meeting of Gilgit and Indus River. Lunch in Gilgit and continue to the west of Gilgit on the Ghizer Road, along the Ghizer River with spectacular views. Overnight stay in Royal Guest House.
Two hours' drive and the trek begins. Interesting 4 to 6 hours trek with views of white-topped peaks of 5000 to 6000 meters. First two hours on easy jeep road to Hundis at 3000 meters, highest winter village surrounded by barley fields. Follow North along Mathan Tir river passing many huts with local people who spend summer with cattle. Gentle walk to reach Mathan Tir beautiful summer village with camping site at 3,600 meters.
Three to four hours dynamic walk passing through beautiful summer villages along the Attar valley. Path under shade of birch trees with views of surrounding snow-capped mountains of 6000 to 6600 meters. Many peaks still unnamed and waiting for summit. After 4 hours walking reach Attar Lake (locals call it Barri meaning big) - beautiful campsite with clear water at about 3800 meters. Some summer huts about 500 meters to the lake.
Exploring the surrounding area. If you have rock climbing experience this is the best place to enjoy it. Here we offer several days to enjoy adventure holidays hiking, climbing alpine peaks, walking to lakes and glaciers. Rock-climbing wall very close to camping site. Walk about 3 to 4 hours beside lake for one-hour stream flows from ice and snow of the mountains with colorful flowers all along the way. Reach grassy campsite with wild onions. The views of the mountains back and ahead give immense happiness. If interested in afternoon climbing, there are spots that offer opportunity on 5000 to 6000 peaks nearby your camp. Overnight stay in tent.
Climb northeast to the top is steep - allow 4 to 5 hours to reach the top. Last part to reach the pass is gentle approach and you reach the top that offers exciting view to both sides. Sometimes snow in early or late season on the pass. Within one to one and half hour reach beautiful campsite on Yasin side with clear spring and views of narrow valleys down. Camp at about 3,800 meters in lush green campsite.
Easy walk of about 4 to 5 hours downwards and come across summer huts of Bohrek, Momosil and Silling Harang with people of Darkot who will welcome you with tea and local dishes. After 3 hours reach beautiful village of Darkot, last village of Yasin Valley with about 350 houses. Darkot has historical background about Russian invasion, Tibetan rule and place of murder of British Geographer George Hayward in 1870. Junction point of 4 amazing trekking routes.
Exciting hike to Ghamubar takes us along beautiful villages of Darkot and Ghasum with fantastic views of Ghamubar Peaks ahead that are above 6000 meters still untouched. Ghamubar Lake in the snout of glacier has great attraction for nature lovers. Water falls, stream, juniper trees and wild roses are heart-touching. Walk along right side of glacier and sometimes on lateral moraines. Reach beautiful campsite with willow bushes under shade of Ghamubar Peaks.

Participants need valid passport with six months remaining validity and visa for Pakistan. Apply online at Nadra website under Mountaineering & Trekking category. You'll need letter of invitation (LOI) which our office provides along with requisite documents.
Some treks in Pakistan fall in restricted areas requiring trekking permit. Security clearance process takes 30-45 days. Highly recommended to apply at least 60 days in advance. Your visa application is linked with trekking permit application.
Mandatory requirement to have insurance policy for accidents, medical and helicopter evacuation covering at least $30,000.
In cities like Islamabad, western dress is fine but in remote regions including Skardu, you need full dress covering your body.
