Itinerary
Arrive in Islamabad and transfer to your guesthouse. Meet your guide and fellow travellers in the evening for a briefing on the journey ahead.
Set off on a scenic road trip from Islamabad to Chitral, travelling through dramatic mountain passes and winding valleys. Arrive in Chitral by evening and check in to your hotel.
Drive out to Garam Chashma, a peaceful valley famous for its natural sulphur hot springs. Spend the day relaxing by the springs, exploring the surroundings, and soaking in the mountain scenery before returning to Chitral.
Spend the day exploring Chitral Gol National Park, one of Pakistan's most important wildlife reserves and home to the iconic markhor. Trek through the park, take in the stunning viewpoints, and keep an eye out for wildlife along the way.
Travel to the Kalash Bumburet Valley, the largest and most visited of the three Kalash valleys. Check in and spend the afternoon exploring the village, meeting locals, and getting a first taste of Kalash culture and traditions.
A full free day in Bumburet Valley to explore at your own pace. Visit the Kalash museum, walk through the traditional villages, observe daily life, watch festival ceremonies if timed with a celebration, and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere.
Depart Chitral in the morning and begin the long but scenic return journey to Islamabad, retracing the mountain roads back through the valleys.
A flexible backup day in Islamabad. If all has gone to schedule, enjoy a light exploration of the city — Faisal Mosque, Daman-e-Koh, or the local bazaars — before departing for home.
